Design and Analysis of a Broadband Microwave Amplifier

This paper presents the procedures involved in design and analysis of a microstrip broadband microwave amplifier. For system design, simulation, optimization analysis, Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool know as Agilent Advanced System (ADS) was employed. The amplifier device- FLC317MG-4 FET, tested for stability, observed to be unconditionally stable between 2 6 GHz frequency band. Two possible ideal matching circuits were investigated identify best circuit with maximum transducer power gain. It that quarter-wave transformer parallel open stub, gave high gain at wider range (larger bandwidth/ broadband), than other circuit. Hence, it employed using microstrips, achieved flat about 9.8 dB 10.118 dB, bandwidth 3.5 4.5 GHz.
